Solutions for abseiling, rockclimbing and search & rescue teams
When it is a person hanging from a rigging system, safety is paramount. Ropes need to have breaking tolerances far higher than what might possibly be applied. Jeyco supplies a range of safety ropes are especially made by Cousin Trestec to meet the highest standards. There are two styles of safety rope commonly in use: static and dynamic.
Static rope
Static ropes exhibit increased stability and accuracy for access to work or rescue sites, changing sites and maintaining position. A type A rope allows easy movement up and down while hanging; a type B rope has a smaller diameter and is reserved for abseiling, using appropriate descenders. Static ropes are designed for comfortable use in combination with descenders and ascenders: most of these accessories require a rope of 10.5mm diameter to function optimally.
Dynamic rope
Dynamic ropes are designed to absorb the shock of a climber's fall. The most fundamental element in dynamic rope design is shock absorption: the residual shock the climber experiences during fall has to be minimal to prevent injury.
Jeyco provides the full range of static and dynamic safety ropes, suitable for:
- Tree surgeons
- Window cleaners
- Private or state search and rescue teams
- Military - swarming and abseiling
- Recreational climbing
- Speleologists
- Helicopter rescue
