Solutions for Tugs and Towing

Because they are constantly changing lines, tugs require fastening solutions that are both strong and easy to handle, with low weight, good load mitigation and high abrasive resistance. Below are some of the ropes commonly supplied to the towing industry.

Aqualine
A high strength, low cost, floating rope for stern towage.

Combiflex
Higher strength and abrasion resistance than Aqualine. Exhibits significantly higher fatigue life. Neutrally buoyant, suitable where a floating line is not imperative.

Double Braid Polyesters
Are considered to be the best solution for the modern generation of harbour tugs and offshore escort vessels. These lines are often used with handling tails made from Plasma rope to facilitate ease of handling and hook-up.

The best way to evaluate rope commercially is by 'dollars per tow'. These ropes consistently return much better dollars per tow figures than any of their competitors.

Tug crews report that these ropes exhibit less work hardening, and are the best that they've ever used.
